Our advice for a balanced life

La Vie en Bleu

Our La Vie en Bleu programme experts share their advice with you to help you eat better, exercise more and take care of yourself, all year long!

Eat better

Fill up on fruit and vegetables

Combine health and pleasure by preparing a plate of fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables: all high in water, fibres, vitamins and minerals in their own way, they each provide a rich source of protective nutrients for your body!

The right portion

Portions are the key to get a balanced diet. An easy way to remember? Just use your hand! An open hand for vegetables, a fistful for fruit and starches, and a palm-sized portion for meat and fish. It could not be easier!

Choose your fats

Some fats are good for the body and the heart. Enjoy a largish filet of fish twice a week! Salmon and tuna, for example, contain good fatty acids (the famous Omega 3!) as well as proteins, vitamins and minerals… a real delight!

Exercise more

Take up a sport again

But gently! Set reasonable goals, and do not forget to listen to your body: it is very important to warm up for 5 to 10 minutes before, and to stretch well afterwards. Be sure to drink enough water while you are working out!

Walking, a step towards good health!

Walking is a simple way of staying physically active, whatever your schedule and your age. A brisk thirty minute walk a day, the equivalent of 6,000 steps a day, is enough for you to stay in shape. Did you know that practising a physical activity improves your mood and increases your self-confidence?

Eat cereals

Cereals are our body’s main fuel. Wheat, rice, corn, spelt, barley, oats… Prefer whole grain or semi-processed cereals: they will keep you going longer!

Take care of yourself
Sleep, the new ally

Nothing can replace a good night’s sleep (7 – 8 hours for an adult) to be alert all day long. Lie down in a dark and quiet room, at a temperature between 18 and 20°C. Make sure there is no screen to distract you. You will wake up peaceful and relaxed… Losing your concentration, stressed? There is no shame taking a 20-minute nap, your body will thank you for it.

Listen to your feelings and relax

With our increasingly demanding lifestyles, it is important to know how to listen to your body, to relax and empty your mind. Take a break on your own in the day: meditation, reading, music, breathing, yoga, stretching… Relax, step back and rediscover the real sense of peace.

Stay hydrated

Our body is made up of over 60% of water: it is essential for our organism, so make sure to drink enough water throughout the day, do not wait till you feel thirsty. Did you know that every kind of water has its own health benefits? Then feel free to change your water habits!
